Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program at Thirumalai Srinivasa Para Medical Institution, School of Nursing is open to all candidates who meet the prescribed requirements set by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.

Educational Qualification

Option 1:

10+2 (Higher Secondary) with English and minimum 40% marks in the Vocational ANM course from a school recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.

Option 2:

10+2 (Higher Secondary) with English and minimum 40% marks in the Vocational Stream – Health Care Science from a recognized board of Education.

Age Limit

The candidate must meet the age criteria as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council at the time of admission.

Generally, the minimum age for admission is 17 years, and the maximum age limit is as per prevailing INC norms.

Health Requirements

Candidates must be medically fit and produce a Medical Fitness Certificate from a registered medical practitioner.

Students must also meet the physical and mental health standards required for nursing practice.

Language Proficiency

Basic proficiency in English is required, as the medium of instruction for the course will be English.

Since the medium of instruction is English, students are expected to possess fundamental English skills.”
